IGDH Policy - Contests for Students

The Board of Education approves the concept of educationally related contests provided they are educationally sound and administratively feasible.

The approval of the Superintendent or his designee will be required in order to conduct a contest or activity involving awards to students by agencies outside the schools . 

In fulfilling the responsibility for approval, principals will solicit opinions from the staff with respect to requests being considered.

The administration will limit participation in contests to those that are educationally sound, feasible, and timely. Contest activities should supplement and support the regular school program--they should not interfere with it.
