GBH Policy - Staff-Student Relations

Teachers will maintain discipline in their classrooms.

Students will be treated with fairness and justice. The teacher will have the authority to take those measures, within the limits of acceptable professional practice to maintain order and discipline at all times when students are under the teacher's jurisdiction.

Rules and regulations of the district and an individual school will be enforced by the teacher. The rules will apply to all school sponsored activities. Students who represent the school at activities outside the district are under the jurisdiction of the school and teachers will enforce rules to maintain discipline.

All teachers are charged with the responsibility of maintaining order in the hallways and to assist and cooperate with other teachers and the administration in maintaining order and discipline throughout the building.
