PUBLIC NOTICE

The Board of Trustees of Sublette County School District #9 will be meeting in Executive Session on March 10, March 11, and March 16 at 6:30 p.m. in order to interview candidates for the superintendent of schools position. The meeting will be at the Sublette County School District #9 Fine Arts Center Boardroom.

Included in the process will be the opportunity for district patrons and staff to hear comments from each candidate at the Staff / Stakeholder Forums. The Forums will be held from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Big Piney High School Library on the following dates:

Robert Griffin (Ten Sleep, WY) Wednesday, March 11

Stacey Peres (Rawlins, WY) Monday, March 16

PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

ATTENTION ADULT FORMER STUDENTS AND LEGAL GUARDIANS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Sublette County School District #9 (SCSD#9) will be destroying the special education records of all students who received special education and related services who were born prior to January 1, 1999 (1/1/1999).  These records are considered to be no longer useful to the district.  These records may be useful to the former student and/or their legal guardian if they are considering applying for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, college or some other instance.

With proof of identity any former student, or CURRENT legal guardian, whom this affects may review and/or request these records prior to May 1, 2026 (5/1/2026).  Only written requests will be accepted.  The request may be mailed to:

The request must include the following:

Student’s name, date of birth (DOB), current mailing address, phone number and email (if applicable).

The student’s signature, or legal guardian’s signature must be on the request document.

IF NO STUDENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN RESPONDS TO THIS PUBLIC NOTICE, THEN SCSD #9 WILL ASSUME CONSENT TO DESTROY THE ENTIRE RECORD SPECIFIC TO THE STUDENT.  AFTER MAY 5, 2026 (5/5/2026) RECORDS WILL BE DESTROYED.

SCSD #9 Consolidated Grant Meeting

SCSD #9 Consolidated Grant Meeting

Sublette County School District #9 will host its annual Consolidated Grant Meeting on April 11th, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the FAC Boardroom at 115 S. Nichols St., Big Piney, WY 83113.

Interested staff members or patrons of the district are invited to attend. This is a public meeting where interested parties served by the 2023-24 Federal Consolidated Grant funding can express their views for  the use of these funds. The Consolidated Grant includes multiple federally funded programs under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESSA), the  Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and  McKinney-Vento grant programs.
