You will need to pick up your donuts from the fundraiser on Wednesday, April 26th between 3:30 & 5:30 at the Middle School library or in LaBarge Elementary parking lot from 3:15-6:30 p.m.
Yearbooks are now on sale, early bird special $30. Now until May 8th, come get the early bird discount on a yearbook before they arrive. After May 8th, price bumps up to $35 dollars.
Krispy Kreme fundraiser forms are due Thursday, April 20th to the office. All money should be included in an envelope with the form. Checks should be made out to SCSD#9. Call the office at 276-3315 if you have any questions.
There will be a High School orientation for all of the current 8th Graders at the high school gym on Tuesday, April 25th at 7 p.m.
We have extended our 3rd Quarter here at the Middle School due to PAWS testing so the quarter will now end on March 24th. Our 3rd Quarter Awards Assembly will now be on April 10th at 2:00 p.m.
The Student Council will be hosting a "Spring" into PAWS Dance on Tuesday, March 7th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the MS gym. There will be an activity bus for the LaBarge students at 5:30.
MS Boys Swim practice will begin on Monday, March 13th and MS Track will begin on Monday, March 20th.
Parent teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, February 14th from 4-8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, February 16th from 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday's conferences will be held in the Middle School Gym as usual. We will be trying a new format for Thursday the 16th conferences. Middle School conferences on Thursday will be held in each teachers perspective rooms at the middle school. You will need to call the office at 276-3315 to schedule a 15 minute appointment for each teacher you may want to visit with regarding your student. We hope that this will cut down on wait time for the teachers you would like to see. If you have any questions please call the office and we hope to see you at our conferences next week.
The middle school wrestling meet scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, February 7th, has been cancelled due to weather. There will be no practice so please expect your student home after school.
Thirty students competed with 22 projects in this years science fair. The judge's collaborated to pick the top projects in the science fair. Excellence Awards and category winners earned a score of 90 or above under multiple judges:
Honorable Mention: Liam Hughes "Physics of Shooting Form"
Excellence Award: Jonah Bailey "Consumer Testing of Fabric Cleaning Chemicals"
Excellence Award: Team of Cassidy Espenscheid and Haden Thoman: "Impact of Minor Chord and Major Chord Music on Cricket Behavior.
Excellence Award: Kaden Raza "Tides of War: Comparing Accuracy of Tide Predictions to Sea Level Monitoring"
Creativity Award: Abby Reed and Ryker Goodman: "Food or Lady: Analysis of Behavior Choices of Obese Male Mice
Innovation Award: Jakobi Hibbert "Design a 3D printed medical object for the 2017 ASME and NASA ‘s “Mars Medical Challenge”
